· STRIKING

o HANDS
§ All punches must be above the waist.
§ Punches must hit with the FRONT portion of the glove.
§ On Spinning backfist, the striking surface is the back of the glove from the top of the wrist portion of the glove and up.
§ No "Slapping"
§ No "Palm Strikes"
§ No "Elbows or Forearms"
§ No "Karate Chops"



§
o FEET & LEGS
§ Fighters may kick to their opponents legs (2” above the knee as well as upper body.
§ Kicks may be made with the fighters Shin or Foot.
§ Kicks are allowed to the inside and outside of the fighters legs.
§ Kicks are not allowed to a fighters knees.
§ Kicks are not allowed to a fighters groin.
§ Direct Side Kick Style kicks to the front of a fighters legs Are NOT ALLOWED.



International Rules DRESS CODE
Shorts are MANDATORY to clearly designate that this is a leg kick bout as well.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

· AMATEUR Safety Equipment
§ Headgear
o Shin Pads - Shin-n-instep padding
o Groin Cup
o Mouthpiece
o Handwraps
o Fight Gloves (10 oz. Boxing gloves for 156 and less pounds, over 156 pounds will wear 12 oz boxing gloves)



· PRO Safety Equipment
o Headgear Is Not Allowed in PRO IKF Bouts.
o Groin Cup
o Mouthpiece
o Shin-n-instep pads Are Not Allowed in the Pro IR Divisions of the IKF.
o Hand Wraps
o Fight Gloves (10 oz boxing gloves)


Rounds
Amateur
beginners with less than 3 bouts
3 rounds at 1 ½ minutes
After 3 bouts
3 X 2 minute rounds

Pro
4X3 minute rounds (6 bouts or less)
Over 6 bouts the rounds will be 6 to 11 rounds at 3 minutes long

Kicks per round: 5 kicks per round minimum
First time failure to get 5 kicks will be a point deduction, the second round failure to get in 5 kicks is a disqualification.
